The ACT Foundation is Now Accepting Applications for Its 2017 Scholarship Program

For the past four years, the Account Control Technology Foundation (ACT Foundation)has awarded over $200,000 in scholarships to students through its local and national scholarship program. This year the ACT Foundation is giving away close to $25,000 to high school graduates and college students entering college in the fall of 2017. The application deadline is June 1, 2017. Tax Liens and Some Civil Debts May Be Excluded From Credit Scores

The nation's three largest credit-reporting agencies will soon exclude tax liens and some civil debts from their reports. The change by Equifax, Experian and TransUnion will take effect July 1, as part of a plan to ensure consumer identifications in the data are accurate and current.

Perkins Loan Extension Act of 2017 Introduced by Bipartisan Group

On May 17, 2017,Reps. Elise Stefanik (R-NY-21), Mark Pocan (D-WI-02) Louise Slaughter (D-NY-25), John Duncan (R-TN-02), Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-FL-27) and Mark DeSaulnier (D-CA-11) introduced the Perkins Loan Extension Act of 2017 – bipartisan legislation to extend the Perkins Loan Program for two years. The Federal Perkins Loan is a popular andefficient campus-based financial aid program, which supports access to higher education by providing low-interest loans to students in need.
